Built in the 6th century, St. Catherine's Monastery in Sinai, Egypt, houses the second largest library of ancient manuscripts in the world after the Vatican. Containing some 3500 rare treasures including 4th century New Testament manuscripts, the UNESCO World Heritage Library contains unique and unparalleled testimony to Christian history, along with priceless religious icons.
