    During the lockdown, the churches of France emptied their congregations, causing a financial crisis within the church of France. Since the beginning of 2020, the decline in resources in the dioceses has been in the order of 40%. The Bishops' Conference of France (CEF) has noted a drop of 60 million euros during the first confinement in the spring of 2020 and a drop of 30 million during the second confinement in November 2020.
